Andrew's Nationals Report 2011!!!!

Hey this is how I went at Nationals. I got 17th and went 5-2 in swiss, so overall im pretty happy, plus I got an invite to the Oceania wcq in July this year.

Round 1: VS Tengu Plants Win 2-0

Game 1
I open god with gateway and united, ending with Shi En, Grandmaster, Kizan and Landoise. Win the following turn after I summon hand and destroy her monster.

Game 2
I side 2 D Fissure, 1 D.D Crow, 1 Nobleman of Crossout
Opening hand: Warning, Judgement, Elder, Asceticm, United, D Fissure
Win pretty easily because i had D Fissure which stopped Dandylion, I lol'd when she sided in Prohibition.

Round 2: VS Plantsworn Lose 0-2

Game 1: He gets lucky and brings out trishula and i have mst, dark hole, grandmaster, and he picks the dark hole. Lose the following turn.

Game 2: He puppet plants my Sh En (shoud have made beast or catastor) Syncs with it. I bring out Gaia Knight, attack thunder King and he drops Honest

Round 3: VS Blackwing Win 2-0
Win both games pretty easily, he summons blizzard, brings back gale. Then he activates icarus tributing gale, without using it's effect to halve Shi En. I negate and win the following turn

Round 4: VS Karakuri Machina Plant Win 2-1

Game 1: He does that loop and I can't do anything

Game 2: Side in 2 Cyber Dragon, 1 Veiler, 1 D Fissure
I go first opening god with gateway, united, mst, ascetism, kagemusha, grandmaster. Win the following turn

Game 3: He opens god, he ends his turn with stardust, 2 bureido, and that lv 3 Karakuri tuner
I draw gateway on my turn and pump grandmaster to 2600, running over stardust, I set mirror force. He brings out Fortress, switches bureido to defence to draw a card. He attacks and i flip mirror force destroying bureido and fortress.

In my turn I special Kizan, removing 4 counters special another Kizan. Destroy Bureido and the lv 3 tuner and attack directly dropping him to 5900. He summons Kinetic Soilder and I warning.
Time is called and i manage to drop him down to 3800, with me on 6000 lp. He summons the level 3 tuner guy, he trys to puppet plant my grandmaster, but i use book. He scoops realising he can't do anything

I move on to a 3-1 record!!

Round 5: VS Infernity (the guy that got top 4) Lose 1-2

Game 1: I win dice roll, and again I draw gateway, I win without getting to see what he is playing

Game 2: puppet plant

Game 3: I get him down to 1700 when I'm on 5300, I have Hand and one back row. He has no cards in hand. He draws and top decks an Archfiend. I lose from there

Round 6: VS Six Samurai Win 2-0

Game 1: Win thanks to Oppression and Warning

Game 2: I side 3 puppet plant, 1 veiler, 1 chain d. He starts and opens with shi en and kagmusha. I special elder, normal kagemusha. He flips chain dissapearance. I puppet plant and grab his kagemusha and sync into Shi En. He suicides into my Shien. I win later on when i sync my kizan, kageki and veiler for stardust

I currently sit 33rd on the standings so I need to win the next game to qualify for Oceania.

Round 7: VS X Sabers Win 2-1

Game 1: I win dice roll and open with gateway, united, dojo, united, and something else. I lose because I draw no monsters and when he I to judgement his Boggart he activated Seven Tools.

Game 2: I bring out hand and win from there
Game 3: He sides 2 puppet plant and I side 1 Veiler, 1 Nobleman, 1 D Fissure.
Another close game, I bring out trishula removing emmersblade, pashuul and faultroll, flip double edge and synchro into naturia beast. He scoops the following turn

Also I drew Solemn Judgement in all 3 games lol which helped a lot

I finish 17th out of 124 players at the end of swiss, I get my playmat (I was 1 place from getting 6 boosters.)

Couldn't stay to watch the finals which sucked

Hey tom can you sort out whos going to armageddon from your flat? It is the 2nd and 3rd of july but we're gona be heading up on the friday the 1st of july. I'll book a dorm at backpackers, assuming we all want to stay at backpackers the friday and saturday night. But need to know whos all going.
